Why do we use DLC LED grow light for indoor plants growing?

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN USING DLC LED GROW LIGHT IN INDOOR GROWING

As light is an essential item for the success of cultivation, choosing the right DLC LED grow light is always a cause for doubt for the cultivator. One of these questions is regarding the use of fluorescent lamps. Even because of their lower cost, this can be ideal for those who are taking their first steps in cultivation.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE SUCCESSFUL INDOOR GROWING USING DLC LED GROW LIGHT?

The answer yes, it is possible to cultivate with fluorescent lamps. You can even take the cultivation from start to finish with them. The results will probably not be as good compared to other lighting options; LED and steam lamps.

A DLC LED grow light can be common successfully to maintain clones. Similarly, it is for germination and even to carry out the entire vegetative or growing phase of the plants.

We can start with the objective of illuminating the lower branches of the plants. This ends up receiving less light from the main source.

WHY DLC LED GROW LIGHT IS COMMON?

But for flowering, it ends up not compensating to use these lights because of the very low cost-benefit ratio, since many Watts of this type of DLC LED grow light would be needed to have a good result.

It is better to cultivate the vegetative phase with fluorescent lamps, if this is the grower's choice, and then move on to the flowering phase with another type of lighting, which can keep the fluorescent lamps as complementary light.

WHAT CHANGES IN PLANTS WHEN USING DLC LED GROW LIGHT?

When all cultivation is done with fluorescent lamps the plants tend to grow less compared. It is to use LED light or high pressure steam lamps. Fluorescents can be successfully common for:

  • small plants
  • herbaceous plants
  • plants with lower light requirements

ADVANTAGES:

An advantage in these situations, in addition to the low cost, is that DLC LED grow light is cold and, therefore, will not damage the leaves that are more sensitive in these phases.

DISDVANTAGES:

Among the disadvantages of using this light is the fact that they are highly polluting. They contain heavy metals in their constitution. Therefore, its disposal cannot be done in any way, being correct it’s recycling in a specialized company.

Another disadvantage is that, despite being more economical, they still consume a lot of electricity compared to LED models, for example.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LED AND VAPOR LAMPS?

In comparison with LED and Vapor lamps, the main difference concerns the spectrum of light emitted. Check out:

DLC Grow LED – DLC LED grow light is tuned to emit the optimal spectrum of light for plant development, at the wavelengths plants require for photosynthesis.

Steam – On the other hand, HPS lamps are widely common for lighting greenhouses and indoor cultivation. Their light emission is centered on the spectral region of greater photosynthetic efficiency. This allows the production of high luminous intensities that generate energy use by plants.

Fluorescent – In turn, a fluorescent lamp emits white light. That is, at all wavelengths, including those that plants “don't need” for their growth. The lighting spectrum is much wider compared to high pressure steam lamps. And as a result, a part of the light emitted ends up being wasted and not common by the plants.

INDOOR FARMING: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

Too much water or poor drainage (this occurs when water cannot drain through the bottom of the pots and is characterized by fallen leaves and root rot).

Wait until the vases are dry, do the toothpick test or lift each vase and feel if it is DLC LED grow light or still heavy with water in it. It is also recommended to check for unwanted accumulation of water on the dishes or in the oven.

THE OVERFERT WHICH IS TOO MUCH FERTILIZER

To get started, do a flush and temporarily stop using nutrients. Afterwards, wait a longer time between each application to observe the plant's responses to the procedure.

PROBLEM OF TOP LEAVES BURNED

To solve this problem, adjust the height of the reflector, check if the temperature is too high. Also check if the plants have a source of micronutrients (such as Boron, Calcium, Iron and Sulfur) and also adjust the pH to indices between 6 and 6.5.

PROBLEM OF UNDERSODES YELLOWISH

Make sure the plants have a source of Nitrogen and Magnesium. Afterwards, apply a low dose of magnesium sulfate and wait for the plant's response. Finally, be sure to also check if the temperature is too high.

Consider installing more DLC LED grow light or LEDs in your grow. Plants need an average of 100W of energy for each pot or plant, which shows once again how much light is a key factor in indoor cultivation.

WHAT THE IDEAL INDOOR GROWING GREENHOUSE SHOULD LOOK LIKE?

Since light is the most influential factor in the development of a plant, the greenhouse sealing must be very efficient. The unwanted entry of light comes by possible greenhouse sealing problems is harmful and can interfere – and a lot – in the flowering stage of the plants.

Greenhouses that have an internal flap along the zipper closure are considered to be the most efficient in the task of sealing off the light because they prevent light rays from passing through the tiny spaces of the closure. It is important that the greenhouse common in indoor cultivation has quality zippers that do not accidentally open or get stuck in an attempt to be closed.

Summary DLC LED grow light

The greenhouse must also have a strong support structure to support the weight of cultivation equipment such as DLC LED grow light, exhaust, among others. Another important feature is that the greenhouse is easy to assemble and disassemble and has a bag to store all the frames to store them easily when not cultivating or in between crops.
